This Jr. Drum set is good for kids who are just beginning to play the drums. I would improve and work on the kick and high hat peddles and make them a little bit smoother to kick, for kids do not have strong kicks (2-7) yet. Over all, it is a great set for kids to use and practice. Solid and looks it will last for a while.

We ordered this back in October because we didn’t want it to ship in the madness of Christmas but it was the Christmas gift to our child. Unboxing can seem overwhelming if you have no music background. We do so once we started putting things together it moved along and seem less intimidating. Took us like 2 hours to assemble it. But it does feel like a decent quality drum for the price. We were looking for a step up from toy drums but not Professional as our child is only 3. The hi-hat is the only thing we are a little annoyed with. It keep coming undone or off center after only a few moments of playing. We have to keep taking it apart and assembling it. We do try to make sure we’re at making everything tight but it just keeps happening. Overall we are happy with the purchase and shipping was fast and everything was in good condition when unboxing. Good sound and great size for our child. They are very happy with their drum set.

My grandson is a fantastic drummer. He's 5 and outdrums many musicians...but he is little and has ruined 4 sets...this is better quality and he loves it...thank you we are looking forward to the next set...but for now we are very pleased...thank you..!!

Quality of the shells, cymbals and sticks is decent for the $. Kick pedal and high hat are poor quality. Do yourself a favor and get some thread locking glue for the threaded connections, they do not hold well

Love this little set....I paid more for this because I wanted a real basic drumset and it seems of good quality and decent sound. I didn't want to purchase a toy and this is definitely not a toy ...I was impressed. The only thing is the cymbal doesn't have the best sound but the set is heavy duty and well made!

These are very small. Got these for my 8 year old and it fits him perfectly. Great for learning main thing. I’m 25 and I get on them sometimes and play a little. The assembly was a bit of a pain. The instructions a little difficult to comprehend. Luckily I have a little bit of experience with drums so I kinda knew how they went together.

Bought this for my six year old, definitely a good drum set for beginners. Wouldn't consider it for much more than that, though. We got it on sale so that made it a better value for the money. Not much thickness to the heads, they feel cheap and the pedal doesn't fit on the bass drum too well. You get what you pay for with this set but it was definitely worth buying this rather than something more expensive for my son to learn on. Not too terribly difficult to assemble.

Obviously its not a high end set. That being said for your kid to learn on these are an awesome deal for the money. My 8 year old loves them. Installation was no issue. Obviously finish and materials arnt the best. But for the price I have no complaints. If I had to complain about one thing, I would like the kick pedals to be made of thicker metal. Its Very thin. Your kids will love it and if they learn to play you can always buy them a real set down the road.

At first when it came in I was a little disappointed in the size. The box was quite small. But once assembled it was a fairly good size for a 8 year old boy! Perfect for their first drum set. Sounds pretty good and drum set is adjustable to size

Packaged nicely. I have not put it together yet. Checked to make sure all parts needed were there and everything was as expected. Also comes with instructions. This kit has lots of adjustments which I think will make it more suitable for different players.

Box was intact but direction sheet was ripped...(no big deal). However, cymbal was and still is missing and had issue with another part. I have emailed but no cymbal or other part that was mentioned in email as of yet. Have assembled drum but not fully functional.

Oh my. Our boy loves his drums. Just like daddy. High hat comes apart pretty easily and the bass drum petal is tougher for him to hit however he just turned 2. So when on his little stool he can’t really reach now, as he grows I’m sure it’ll fit and be easier.

About 12 years ago we bought a little cheap drum set. It cost maybe 30 dollars and lasted a month. This is a full sized, considerably better drum set! As a young couple there is no way we could have afforded this back then, so it is on the higher end for a young family on a budget. (Note: Eastar does make a simpler set for half the price)
But, now as a homeschool family, the price is what I would expect for my kids to be learning on for music class. You definitely get a very good value for your money!
It took about 2 hours to assemble with the help of two of my kids. One thing I would say is to make sure you run your finger around the bass drum rim and tom tom before placing down and tightening the drum heads. When I did the first tom tom drum head I didn't check and a little wood fleck or grain pressed into the head. It'd be awfully easy to puncture the head as you're focused on tightening evenly. Also make sure you tighten according to the pattern on the back of the instructions for a good even tension (my teenager pointed that out to me).
The Hi-hat cymbals are tricky to understand. Sandwich the top cymbal between the felt and screws, similar to the crashing symbol. Then, rest the lower cymbal on the larger felt with the plastic screw to keep it from jumping up. Then, adjust the pedal height to what you prefer.

It seems to be a good buy for a 6 yr old - young teen. I think even I could sit in a adjustable desk chair at this set and learn some drumming patterns.
I'm very pleased with our purchase! It is a solid entry level junior set!

Overall the drum set is nice. The instructions claim to be intuitive, however, when it came time to set up the high-hat, I was perplexed. The drum set in the picture was not exactly the set I was assembling and though I was able to put it together in a way that was operable, I had leftover pieces. I was a little disappointed to find that the kit was not painted (or not all painted). The snare drum had a plastic strip of blue held on by double sided tape on one edge which was falling off after shipping. I was able to reattach it, and it looks fine — I was under the impression that the drum kit would be finished like a guitar is finished. Live and learn!

Had a bit of issue with one of the tension bars, but thankfully there were spares included so I didn't need to stress about it. Floor tomtom needed drum heads and legs attached, same as bass drum. Snare, medium, and small tomtom were assembled and ready for tightening and mounting. I got the set put together while watching some football.

Had a sparkle to the paint that I didn’t expect. Bought for my toddler for Birthday. I didn’t want a toy but I didn’t want to spend a fortune. He’s going to love it.
