I bought this because my son is in a band and needed the saxophone. I rented a very expensive one because the band teacher recommended it. I wish I never listened to her and did my own research. You don't need to buy an expensive sax for band. This was just fine sounds very good. Save the money and get this one.

Perfect for my 10 year old daughter who is learning to play with her school band. I’m not a wind player so cannot speak to how it would be for anyone beyond a beginner, but she has noticed it to be much easier to play than the old sax her school had rented us. We have had it for 4 months and so far no issues.

I've been playing music for 44 years (NOT woodwinds). Just wanted to take up the sax to add to my repertoire of enjoyment. I've very happy with this horn for an entry level instrument. It really seems to be rock solid craftmanship. Excellent quality horn. The following accessories that came with the horn: case, stand and two cleaning cloths were good quality as well. On the other hand, the mouthpiece and ligature along with the reeds could have stayed at the factory. Or, you could just throw them in the garbage. Mouthpiece even came with a reed already mounted. LOL - Yuk - would NOT want to try to put that in my mouth. Overall very happy with purchase!

The tone quality or the saxophone is incredible. There are no air leaks or pad issues even after multiple sessions of sustained usage. Cleaning is extremely easy and the kit even comes with the materials to do so, just be sure not to be aggressive with it. The saxophone comes with several reeds, which do not indicate strength, and a synthetic reed which produces a great tone when used with a jazz embouchure. The saxophone works especially great for beginners as it is high quality while being cheap and allows them to worry less about perfecting an expensive piece of equipment. Overall this has been one of the greatest purchases I've made as it has allowed me to make great strides in my musical goals while keeping my wallet happy. I recommend this saxophone to everyone, not just beginners.

Did not want to spend a ton for my daughter's beginner saxophone; she is just starting to play this instrument, as she plays the flute and took a liking to the sax. the flutes she has cost over thousand each, so the price for this one was just right. will not feel too bad if she does not continue learning it.

Check out “Better Sax” on youtube - he does blind tests to see if you can hear the difference between this instrument and one that costs $5,000. I personally could not tell the difference at all! Produces a very beautiful sound, although I am still learning so I assume it will get even better. ;) Also, it looks gorgeous set up on the stand in my living room!! I love it.

Everything that it comes with is of good quality and will last quite a long time. The sax is beautiful and has a good tone and sound, the mouth piece is compatible to the Yamaha 4C mouth piece. You really get a bang for your buck!!! I have never seen so many accessories and tools come in a single package.

If you are not sure if your kid will stay interested in band at school then try this first. I was told I really needed to get a $2000+ saxophone from a music store. NOPE. maybe later but not until I know she will stick with it. It's great for the price.

Wow, I have been playing saxophone for over 30 years. I have a Yamaha 62 alto, Selmer Soprano, and ordered this for my daughter to play. I must say, I played it for an hour or so and the intonation is great. The horn feels and sounds like a pro horn. I will not say it is as good as my 62 but it sounds great. Time will tell how well the quality truly is but it does not have the normal thin metal, loose keys, and cheap springs. The horn feels solid with no play in the keywork and the metal used is thick and the horn feels as heavy as any other alto. I’m impressed by this horn... it is a great value...

I’ve been playing saxophone for about 25 years and got this as a backup horn. I honestly wish this had been around when I was getting started back in middle school. This horn is really really solid, particularly for the price. It’s definitely playable and there isn’t much to complain about honestly.
This would be a great horn for a beginner or for someone looking to try out playing saxophone. The build quality is solid, and it seems like it’s going to hold up for a while.
I saw a lot of reviews with complaints about the stuff that comes with the horn- the reeds, the gloves, mouthpiece, etc. Even with pro level horns, any mouthpiece that’s included with a saxophone is just not going to be of any playable quality. Consider that a separate purchase, but with the value you’re getting for the price, you will still be coming out on top here. Same with the reeds. Don’t even bother with them honestly. You will need something of a better quality. And I don’t recall ever needing gloves to play saxophone lol. But they’re in there, so do with that what you will.
Honestly if you have a student who is looking to start saxophone in school or if you are looking to learn to play as an adult, you could do far worse than this horn. Just remember that researching and investing in a good mouthpiece and picking up some better reeds will be absolutely crucial to success with this horn.

The sax plays well, all keys working, but the mouthpiece and most of the reeds it comes with are pretty bad. I still gave 5 stars because even if it was for the sax itself it's a great price. (and only 30$ for my new mouthpiece). I got the Yamaha 4C mouthpiece and royal 2.5 reeds and it plays way more smoothly than with the original mouthpiece and reeds (no more squeaks and much more consistent sound). Everything else it comes with is a plus, if you're looking to start learning Sax this package has it all.

Looked through the internet for a good quality but cheap enough saxophone for my 11 year old son who has been playing for a year now. Eastar had good reviews and was around the price we were happy to pay. And it didn't disappoint. This saxophone is one of the best looking ones out there (in my opinion), it plays well and sounds brilliant. The fact that it comes with a stand was a huge bonus too. I would thoroughly recommend this saxophone.
