Our banjolele was packaged professionally and was in perfect condition. We are very happy with this instrument. Shipping was also excellent with lots of communication on it's arrival. Thank you so much for a great experience!

It hasn't been played yet, but it looks great and the service was very impressive. Will definitely consider you for future purchases.

My items came quickly and with no damage.

I bought one for my adult son for Christmas, and then one for myself so that we can play together. It is a nice instrument and or a very reasonable price. The discount made it even better.

I already had a Donner uke, but a banjo is my favorite instrument. When I saw your banjolele, I just had to try it. It came quickly, I got it out of the box and tuned it—ready to go. My husband and I are prepping for our home Christmas concert.

tough to keep in tune when i got it. an open back may sound better

Love this and for the price you can’t beat it

Very pleasantly surprised with the quality, action and sound of the the Donner banjo uke - excellent value! It's taking a while to hold its tuning but that's understandable as it breaks in. I ordered it on Sunday and it arrived Thursday with excellent tracking all the way.

I got it tuned; now I just need to learn how to play it!!!
Andy H.
Nice banjo-is sound. Slightly larger space for frets which makes it a little easier to play than a soprano uke. Should be fun to pull out at a show and surprise everyone. Also inspired a couple of songs already.

Fast delivery, excellent product in top condition.

Great little instrument. Lots of sound, nice finish, fantastic price.

I just expected more

Prompt delivery, everything as it should be.

Great little banjo.

This is beautiful wooden banjo. Sounds as expected with easy to adjust strings. The quality is better then expected. The price is cheaper then I would expect. There's no greater feeling then unwrapping a new banjo and smelling that wood... ♥️

I had previously never heard of a banjolele but my son is learning how to play stringed instruments and has been doing an incredible job so I thought this could be a fun addition to his budding collection. The strings seem secure and good quality and the drumhead and bridge are well connected. This piece definitely seems like it should have cost more than it did. The included strap and accessories are so, too, no need for extra shopping.

I ordered this for my daughter who is going ecstatic as I am writing this review lol. I ordered this banjolele thinking it is just like ukelele with a different shape. I was wrong. It is a lot heavier and sets better to your hands than ukelele. A lot more sturdy than I expected, and even more so than those expensive ones found in music center. Very satisfied.

Overall this is a good value for your money as a learning instrument. After some time with it, I find myself enjoying the experience of practicing. I will just pick it up when I have time and relax. The banjolele itself is made well enough. It doesn't feel like a toy. When I first got it, I found it didn't stay in tune very well but after some tightening up with a screw driver it does keep tune better. It doesn't come with instructions so you will need a little bit of logic to get the thing fully together and solid.
I fell in love with this little thing and learning a new instrument again has been fun. I am happy with my purchase.

With four strings has a sound similar to guitar. Simple and light for kids as they don't need to use their fragile nail. Just remember to balance it with its tuner/metronome.

What a Amazing Banjolele. Totally worth money. It came on time with beautifully packed. I wanted to gift my daughter. She just loved it. Sounds best built strong. Definitely recommend.

I liked the quality and value for this acoustic instrument. It's perfect for the beginner with all the extra bits but will also work great for an intermediate/advanced player. It comes with a nice black carry bag so it's very convenient for me to carry around town or from place to place. Love it lots!

If you are a ukulele player and are looking for something that sounds different this is the instrument for you. If you play with other uke players this will definitely help you cut through and have your own voice. Mine played well as it arrived without any setup required. Comes with a nice case, tuner, strap, picks and extra set of strings. Great value for the money. I would highly recommend this instrument.

I was looking for a new instrument to add to my ever growing library of sounds, when this beauty caught my eye. It's a perfect fusion of instruments; It takes everything intimidating about the banjo, and replaces it with the welcoming charm of a ukulele. I haven't played either instrument before, but it immediately felt comfortable in my hands, and I was learning chords minutes within setting it up. The sound it produces very plucky and bright. It's very fun to strum away with. Overall, my favourite part is how well manufactured it is for the price point. It's good to see musical instruments affordable for all.
Included with the Banjolele:
Soft Carrying Case
Truss Rod Adjustment Tool
3 Picks
Strap

Never thought I'd own a banjo, but here we are! The option to swap the strings and use this as a ukulele is what truly sets this apart from anything else, and the reason I got it. It's very versatile and once tuned, has the happy twangy sound you'd expect from a banjo.
The travel bag and extras that come with this are excellent. Everything fits in it, including the strap and tuner in the front pocket.

This is a beautiful banjolele and fun to play. Sounds great. It was very easy to set up the bridge and it came with a tuner, strap, some picks and a drum key. Very nice. Very happy with purchase.

I've been wanting to check out this banjolele for a while now. It was easy to set up. I measured the distance from the nut to the 12th fret then I took that distance and measured from the bottom of the 12th fret to where it came out to on the head. Tuned it played it and tweaked the bridge a little and it sounds great! Very loud!
It's built sturdy. The sides of the neck is smooth and won't scratch your hand. I'm very happy with it it's a good buy!

I've purchased several Eastar instruments and they do a great job with the extras they include in the package. This came with a strap, tuner, picks and an extra set of strings. The instrument is really well made and the tuners are really nice. All in all, this is a really fun little instrument.

Its not a banjo, its not a ukulele, its a banjolele! For the low cost, I am impressed with how well built and sturdy it is. Although that is not surprising given that just about all Eastar products I own have been well built. Glad that I stuck with Eastar instead of trying a new brand to get a banjolele.
This thing is loud and really projects! Much nicer sound than just a ukulele. I am still waiting for the strings to settle in to see how well it stays in tune. I wish it had come with an instructional guide on how to set the bridge, but that is an easy Google or Youtube search away.
This is definitely a great value starter pack which comes with a basic gig bag, extra set of strings, picks, truss rod tool, a strap and a clip-on tuner. The tuner seems very basic but gets the job done. For all the items you are getting for the price I am certainly not complaining.

I am not a huge ukulele fan, but I do enjoy taking them on camping trips due to their very convenient size. As it turns out one of the kids in my house is interested in banjo music so I thought this might be a fun way to bridge the gap and introduce an interesting new instrument into the house.
The banjolele itself is built very sturdy and I was actually surprised by the weight and how solid it felt. If it were a large instrument this might be a huge issue as the weight could get cumbersome, but since it is a smaller item it was actually kind of nice to have something that felt this solid! If I had to nitpick the construction I would say the frets were a bit too thin for my taste, but that is a personal preference and the string action was fine out of the box so I can only complain so much.
Apart from the banjolele itself there was a nice selection of items that came in the box included a gig bag that actually had a bit of padding to it. On budget instruments I normally expect a gig bag to barely qualify as a dust cover, but this one I would actually trust to give a little bit of protection. I also received tools for changing the banjo/drum head, an extra set of strings, and a very functional digital tuner. I tested the tuner out on my guitar which I knew to be in tune and the Donner tuner reflected that perfectly.
Compared to a regular uke, this definitely has some more volume, projection, and twang. It will get even louder still if you unscrew the back off of it. The one thing that is a negative when comparing this to a standard ukulele is the bridge: it isn't set and 'floats' so it needs to be adjusted whenever you change strings. I know some other similar items come with a ruler but this banjolele did not. It is, however, trivially easy to set the bridge once you know what you are doing. You just have to keep in mind that the 12th fret should be exactly one octave higher than the open string. Add some tension to the strings then keep adjusting the bridge until all 4 strings ring the same note on the 12th as they do on the open string and you're good to go!
Am I going to use this banjolele to perform in front of a crowd of people at a coffee shop? Probably not. But is it a great solid instrument for taking on travel? Absolutely.

I’ve had a number of Eastar products over the years and always found them to be a great mix of quality and approachable price. I’ve never played banjo before, but a banjo sound with ukulele tuning sounded too fun to pass up. This is a great little instrument with a unique sound and is easy to play. The construction is solid and of very good quality. The included accessories are useful.
The sound is very bright and punchy with the drum head significantly increasing volume. The included video compares.
I’d definitely recommend this for someone looking for a unique sound that is highly playable. Or if you’re looking for a traditional ukulele, Eastar makes a great range and I love my DUT-4E.

My son is starting a ukulele summer camp soon and thought it would be fun to pick up a banjolele to play on. With its 4 strings, fretted neck and similar playing style of a ukulele, it is a fun and easy instrument for him to cross over to. It has the distinctive tone and construction of a banjo and a small scale that is easy for him to manage. The construction of this banjolele is beautiful. It looks great and also feels great to play. The craftsmanship is excellent with its smooth finish sapele body, remo drumhead and hardwood bridge. All the parts feel good quality. It is a really nicely made instrument and I’m impressed with its quality and warm, plucky tone. The closed-gear tuners are smooth and responsive and it even comes with a clip on tuner for tuning. The only thing that I miss, as a new player, is a template for setting the bridge. The strings are made from standard vinyl material and a spare set is included. I like that this banjolele comes with a padded gig bag and even a strap if we need it. It a really nice and great value banjolele.

I am a musician and a music teacher, I have pro instruments that cost thousands in my personal studio so I do know what I'm talking about. This Banjolele is amazing on any aspect. It feels great. It sounds great. And it's delivers nothing but pure quality. Don't let the low price tag fool you. This is not just for beginners and can be also played with a band or an old timy jam or pretty much in any setting.

I am a musician, I play multiple instruments. Went ahead and bought this ukulele. And I am so very impressed with the quality of this instrument! It came with everything a beginner would need! I highly recommend this!

This banjolele is very good. The tone is warm and crisp. It goes great with both jazz and bluegrass. The strings are well quality. The tuners don’t hold very well but after a day or two they adjust. The body of the instrument is both exceptionally functional and beautiful. The extras like the tuner, strings, and picks are all in good condition. The picks are very thin and better for beginners but you can always get your own picks. All in all, this banjolele is a great purchase for string musicians.
Dan D.
Great little cross between a banjo and a ukulele. Fun to play and came with all the extras you would expect. This is great for me because I am just starting to play and didn't want to spend a fortune if I wasn't actually going to play the thing. I would definitely recommend this for a beginner of any age.

What an amazing product!
I have never heard of a banjo ukelele before. But I saw this, and for the cost how could I help myself?
Want a way to bring a whole new sound to your musical project without breaking the bank? Check out this bad boy. I have never played a ukelele that sounded so warm. What a gem. Solid construction, sturdy base, sturdy machinery. Overall 5/5 review. The accessories too! You get strings, tuner, all sorts of goodies!!! I must say once again, this company has delivered a high quality product at an entry level cost enabling more musicians to get into the game! Well done!

I was looking for a Ukelele, but wanted something different. During my search I found this mini 4 string Banjo/Ukulele. I ordered Friday And received it on Sunday. The instrument looks and feels great with no fret issues or finish flaws. The headstock is satin black with Chrome tuners. It has a Remo banjo head and removable wood back. Package included the instrument, a gigbag, tuner, drum key, strap, picks & an extra set of strings! Set up was simple, just place the floating bridge & tune it up. I really like the way it sounds. I am considering adding a piezo pickup so I can play through an amp!

What an extremely affordable and perfect starter pack. It comes with literally everything you need to get started: A banjolele; a padded gigbag; tuner; strap; extra strings; picks; and a wrench for tightening the hooks. The banjolele comes strung with Aquila super nylguts which means it will be loud and punchy! No issues with construction. Tuners were smooth. No sharp frets! Easy set up.
There are numerous tutorials on how to set the bridge which is a breeze. The only other thing I had to do was re-wind the posts with its strings as it had a lot of slack. New strings will stretch a lot, so don’t be surprised. Never stretch your strings manually. Just tune it up a half step when you play and before you put it away. It usually takes 2 days to finally stretch the strings out naturally which is the norm for nylon and fluorocarbon strings. Other than that, it stays in tune!

Wow, I really like this banjolele.
It is actually my second banjolele. I have been a fan of ukuleles made by Eastar for about 15 months now (I have owned and played 4 of them, and all of them were just amazing values for price and great quality), so when I began wishing for a banjolele, I was really hoping that Eastar would have one available.
After months of waiting and hoping, and both my husband and I doing some research, he gave me a banjolele from another company for Christmas. Just letting you know that for point of reference. It is not from a famous brand, but it is one of a few that we had narrowed down to from research over affordable options, and the company which made it seemed very similar to Eastar, which had been so good to me thus far, so…we took a chance. And that banjolele is wonderful. Again—just sharing for point of reference for this detailed review.
I was so excited to hear that Eastar now had a banjolele available, so I immediately took the opportunity to purchase one and try it out! And how fun that I could now compare as well.
The Eastar banjolele has a wonderful “plunky” sound, as a banjo should. The drum head has the Remo logo on it, which is one of my qualifications for what I desire in a banjolele, though the skin is a flat white matte, which was surprising to me, as my other banjolele has a Remo skin that has that sort of mottled look to it. Honestly, I don’t notice a difference other than appearance in that respect.
This banjolele set comes with a decent gig bag: sturdy material, some padding (so-to-speak, so it is not one of those thin gig bags that feels like a windbreaker jacket), but not quite as awesome as some of the gig bags that came with some of my Eastar traditional ukes. I wouldn’t mind a more spacious pocket. It comes with the Eastar tuner as all Eastar ukes do, which is my favorite tuner. I received another tuner with another brand of uke, and it has been less than pleasing…so glad that I have the occasion to know the difference!
The set also comes with an extra pair of strings (but they are not labeled as to which one is which?), picks, a truss rod, and a strap---however the strap might be meant for a guitar or regular sized banjo. It is too long for me even when tightened all of the way. Decent quality, just doesn’t serve my purposes. Granted, I am a petite 5’1’’, but with all of my other ukes, the straps that come with them have been fine. Also, just so you know, one needs to have 2 small strings or ribbons in order to connect the strap to the banjolele (by looping them through the holes at the end of the strap). It’s not an exciting strap, either. Black canvas with fake brown suede/leather ends, but for the right person, it will do the trick, and honestly some of the straps that come with other instruments, ones with crazy patterns- they probably don’t please everyone either. I have been known to buy a particular strap for a particular instrument just because I wanted it to be more “me”.
What the set lacked in my case was the special tool for measuring where to set up the bridge, or alternatively, instructions for how to measure without that special see-thru tool that one usually sees with these types of banjolele sets. I found out later that there *should* have been a tool included. Luckily, I had one from my other banjolele, and though they have slightly different lengths of neck/fretboard, etc, when I double-checked using the manual measurement method, it actually came out the same. Interesting.
As for comparison, the Eastar banjolele drum is about ¼ inch deeper than my other banjolele, and the neck is slightly thicker. I was surprised at this and wondered if it would make it more difficult to play…but actually, the Eastar Banjolele is quite comfortable to play!
My other banjolele has a slightly brighter sound than the Eastar Banjolele, but saying the Eastar has a darker sound does not seem accurate…perhaps a bit richer or deeper…
The neck and body of the Eastar banjolele are a beautiful red wood look, smooth to the touch. I wouldn’t mind a little more texture there for the feel of wood. The Black headstock is actually quite classy looking- I was not sure if I would like that or not, as my other banjolele looks a bit more rustic, but it turns out pleasing to me. I am not sure if the Eastar name on the headstock is a sticker or paint. I might have expected something that was etched or punched in, like other products from Eastar that I have experienced, but like I said, it is still lovely, and thus far, every Eastar product that I have purchased, from ukuleles to other music accessories, has been a home run. So, I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt.
I have had my banjolele for about a month now. As can be expected with any new uke (but it not always the case), the banjolele went out of tune pretty quickly in the first week or so, like literally within minutes of playing. However, recently I have realized that it has been holding tune through a 15 to 30 minute practice session, which is also what one could certainly hope for and expect from playing an instrument regularly once the strings settle down. (fyi, my first ever uke was a Eastar, and it held tune well from the beginning...I was spoiled! )
All in all, another great instrument by Eastar, at an affordable price. Super value with great quality.

I always wanted to play the banjo and this is a perfect banjo for beginners to learn but also great for everyone. I didn't think it was going to be this small but still works.
Great size and price for beginners and happy that it came with extra strings and a tuner.

After much time looking for a fun ukelele to play, I stumbled across this banjolele and instantly my curiosity got the best of me. I wasn't sure what to expect, having never heard a banjolele before, but WOW, does this thing deliver not only the fun but the quality as well.
What I notice first when removing the instrument from the box, then the gig bag, and finally the protective padding (excellent protective packing by the way) was how gorgeous it looked. I have a Taylor acoustic guitar that is also backed with Sapele wood and was impressed to find this $100 banjolele was equally as beautiful.
Installing the bridge was quite easy, and using the included tuner the banjolele was ready to play right out of the box. The sound is bright and resonates quite well. It seems louder than a traditional ukelele in my opinion.
Overall, I'm impressed. I wasn't expecting such a beautiful looking, great sounding instrument for only spending $100, but this little thing is quite amazing. I highly recommend checking this out.

What i like about this banjolele is its size. Living in a studio apartment, and owning a few instruments myself, making an addition to my collection is always a hassle. Unlike a traditional ukelele, this banjolele brings the southern vibes to any ukelele piece. Playing Israel Kamakawiwo'ole classics, or classic hits from the Super Mario franchise with a banjo twist definitely brings nostalgia in a new form.
The included accessories are a nice to have for any beginner, if a string snaps, or the drumhead needs replacement, the accessories got you covered. One thing to note when setting this banjolele up for the first time, you might need to spend some time tuning it properly, as mine was not tuned out of the box. For anyone familiar with string instruments, this is a pretty standard thing to expect, especially at this budget friendly price point, but for the beginner out there, just remember to put some time into tuning it properly. Thankfully, the included tuner works great, and if you need an alternative to it, DATuner on phone always works.
Overall, pretty good I must say, the Remo drumhead, the included accessories and a relatively simple design makes this viable as a beginner instrument for anyone, as long as proper effort is put into the initial tuning of this banjolele, anyone can sound good.
