How to Tune

You can use a twelve-frequency tuner or download an App. (Android system app: Gstrings; Apple system app: InsTuner).

Use the wrench to adjust the tension of the string by turning clockwise or counterclockwise to higher or lower notes.

Durable components

The strings offer a long-lasting, warm, bright and balanced acoustic tone with an expressive, vibrant presence.

The bone saddle can provide a more stable sound and avoiding the strings force into the wood.

I decided rather spontaneously to buy a lyre, and I'm super pleased with this one. I bought the 10 string to have more options and I'm glad I did that over the 7 string. The quality is great, it's beautiful and very resonant.

I'm very happy with my 10-string lyre. It is very easy to play, in a half hour I could play through a couple of songs. I like the sound of the steel strings. The tuning instructions I received were not good and I broke a string the first time I tuned it. But fortunately it came with a spare set of strings so I replaced it and continued on. The lowest string should be tuned to C4. The strings do go a little flat pretty quick, but it's hardly noticeable. It would be important to tune it often if you are playing along with other instruments. It's very relaxing to play and I'm really enjoying it. I was reading Psalm 33 in the Bible recently and it mentions the 10 string lyre. That's why I decided to get one and see if I could play it. The video is me playing Jesus loves me and it only took a few minutes to learn.

Realistically finding a lyre to purchase in a decent price range is not easy to say the least. This Lyre by Donner, is a great value for the price. While it has some flaws which I'll state below, the pros darn outweigh the cons. I purchased it roughly 2 weeks ago and have had a bit of time with it. Here are my overall thoughts: Cons: - Tuning is difficult. The slightest turns DRASTICALLY change the pitch. If you barely tweak it you can jump an entire note. Once in tune, it tends to stay in tune, but left for a couple days and you'll need to return it. -Audio projection is low. The overall volume of the instrument is quite. I found by placing it on my desk I was able to get a more amplified sound. Pros: -The quality of the overall build is good. It looks incredibly nice for the price, looks like a cherry veneer on the one I obtained. -It is a very uncommon instrument for most people to have lying around. It can add a ton of variety to your music making. I have found great results recording it through a large diaphragm condenser mic and layering tree reverb on it. Gives a very ethereal feeling. -The value can't be overstated enough. I purchased it at 65$ and it's well worth that. I can't say this would be for everyone, but anyone into collecting uncommon instruments, music production, or any kind of RP, might find a good purpose for it.

Great product. I received it a day after ordering it. When I first got it and tried to tune it I broke a string (it happens no big deal) but the only problem was I didn’t get any spare strings. I messaged donner customer support and they got me immediate help. My strings are already on the way!! 10/10 customer support 5 star product and just a great all around company.

I am first time learner and with some instructions I was able to tune the lyre and start playing. The bag comes with its a deprecate string and tips. I watched a couple video and hope to learn this year. The quality of the wood is smooth and nicely finished. The size is suitable for me and I’m 5”3

I want to do music for my kids starting for a young age. It doesn't matter how deep they get into. Since they are very small now, so I would like to get them at least get a introduction to some music instruments. Harp is one of them that I decided to do. And this small harp is the perfect size for kids to handle. It comes with a carrying bag, toning tool and replacement strings. The wood and strings are good quality. It is great starter harp.

As a beginner I don't know what to expect but I really want to learn to make good music with a harp. Buying this product is a good step to learn. It comes with a learning guide. I had to learn how to tune it(came untuned when delivered) but it sounds so well after that. The wood seems to be a good quality too. I like that this comes with a protective case and extra strings too.

It comes with one extra set of string. Easy to use and tune. Do not need any additional tool Not too heavy, not too light. The bag is very useful because it is hard to find a suitable bag for that.

This Donner DLH-002 Lyre Harp made of Mahogany is absolutely stunning! It's very well designed with a 10 Metal String Bone saddle and a set of extra strings! This Ancient Greece Style Lyre Harp also came with a Tuning Wrench and Black Gig Bag that is like a cute little backpack. There's a couple of picks and a cleaning cloth plus a booklet that explains how to tyne it and includes a couple cute short songs to learn! This was actually more than expected and I'm super pleased!

If you are looking for a nice instrument that is easy to carry out and sounds amazing, this is the product for you. The Donner Lyre Harp is a beautifully crafted instrument. I've always wanted a lyre harp and was finally able to purchase one for myself and I'm so happy with my choice. This harp is a beautiful color, it has a sweet, intricate design on the front. The piece is not too heavy, but it has nice weight and feels solid in structure. The gold strings included compliment the color of the wood nicely. Also, the travel bag the harp came with doesn't exactly look like an instrument bag, which is nice for incognito carrying! I love that the piece came with extra strings, picks, wrench for tuning and a wipe cloth. I can't wait to get started playing with the songs included in the complimentary booklet.

Tune it lower than the book says.

Packaged very well. No scratches or dents. Came with extra strings 2 picks a tuning tool a cleaning cloth. Everything I expected. There’s an app it suggests in the booklet to help when tuning. I would advise not tuning it to where the book says. Instead of doing it G4 do G3 I broke 2 strings before realizing I needed to do it a number lower than suggested in the book.
