My son, who is 18 and and a drummer, really likes it. But I can play some things and I am not musical at all. None of the notes seem to clash so most people can play random things right away and it sounds nice. Think spa music. It feels relaxing to hear and to play.

I chose this one because I saw it on a review list and was able to find videos of this specific drum to hear how it sounded prior to buying it. I absolutely love it. For the first week I had it I used it every morning and even sometimes at night. I don't know a lot about music, and I've never played a tongue drum before, but this one has a really clear sound. You have to hit the tongues just right to get the sound to be clear like that but it wasn't that hard to figure out how to do and I expected it to take some effort to learn to get the right sound from an instrument. I didn't have any problems with the sticks, I thought the rubber made a really good sound. I like that it came with a carrying case. I worry about dust getting inside or about damaging it, and being able to store it in the case is helpful. It works the best on hard surfaces, but to get the clear sound on carpet I just put the drum on a notebook. The numbers seem to be printed on the instrument, not just stickers, so you don't have to worry about them peeling off.

Very satisfied .... I looked at a lot of videos (uTube) to try and hear the tones of different tongue drums and decided on this one. I was not disappointed. Since it is for pleasure, I didn't want to spend too much yet didn't want to get a cheap, tinny sound ... this one has nice rich tones and a very nice range. Wish it came with finger taps to try but love the drum sticks. The case is very nice as well. Came with the number stickers already applied with a second set if needed later. Wish they came with the notes that each number goes to but didn't take too long to figure out - the little song book helped.

I bought this drum as travel companion and it was perfect. It reasonably heavy and easy to carry around in the case it goes with. The sounds is versatile - I love that it provides good variety of notes and sounds. Was able to play several melodies on it in short period of time. I added the string of fairy lights so I was able to play it in the darkness.

I was looking for some music instrument that I and my 18 year-old could play together, something easy to teach myself, not too loud and difficult to bite on. This tongue drum turned out to be a great choice. It’s heavy, smooth, in great quality. I don’t see a single scratch on the surface. The notes are labeled in numbers, which makes it super easy to learn. I found the chords for “little star” and I was able to play it right away. Amazing as a beginner! My kid was excited when she heard me playing. The best thing is, the sounds is beautiful. Even the kiddo plays the drum with no rhythm, it’s bearable. It’s exactly what I wanted. I’ve been loving this little tongue drum! It’s a lot of fun to sit and come up with mesmerizing patterns and melodies. The notes are accurate and are properly in tune with the key of D. The sustain is crazy - when you play a note it will ring our for a long time. This little drum is also very loud, which can be both a pro and a con depending on your use, but I personally love how well the sound carries with it. I’ve found that I prefer the feel and sound of playing with the rubber mallets rather than with my hands. You have to experience this drum in person to really understand the beauty of it!

I received this tongue drum last night. I spent about 1/2 hour on it. I play string instruments but never played this before.
The book that came with the set is USELESS. Don't think it even match this drum.
The sound is OK . I expected a little better at this price range.
So how easy it is to learn ? Very easy. I can arrange a song within 15 minutes (still need some editing so I am just playing a happy birthday tune here) . Any one thinking of buying , I recommend 11 notes . I already started looking for one that has more notes than this 11 notes. As a beginner, this is a decent starter.

I initially got this instrument to be meant as a gift but lockdown oblige I ended up using it myself. The first time I started trying it I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and beautiful the notes sound on it. Even just by going counter clockwise on all notes gives such a beautiful sound. I normally play guitar by I will learn how to master this instrument as It gives such a deep and pleasant zen music.

I've always been interested in learning a steel tongue drum so I bought this to start learning how to play with it. As a beginner this is a good buy. It comes with tuning instructions and a little music book. Perfect for meditation and produces zen music to the room which even my small kids love. Can be used with either fingers or the Mallets, but I prefer the mallets. Cool sounding.

This is a great little item. I purchased it myself and have it on hand for whenever I feel like jamming through some stress or plain old tiffing whatever comes. The weight and thickness of the material feel substantial and heavy. The carrying case is also very much appreciated and makes travel super easy.
As far as the sound goes, I prefer to use the included mallets. All tongues play decent, distinct sound that can range from loud to soft based upon the strength of your strike. I’m happy whenever I travel with this as bringing it out to play always invites curious and playful minds alike. Good value.

I am a huge fan of Reggae music and love the steel drums but that’s not why I got these drums. I am not musically talented by any means but I do meditate and this drum helps me tremendously with meditation and relaxation. Every note sounds beautiful and not out of tune at all. It’s a heavy little drum too because it’s made from a pretty thick metal. It would be pretty hard to damage this drum but it comes with a case to keep it looking fresh.

Glad we finally gave in and bought this, one of us has been wanting one for a while. There does seem to be a correlation sometimes between cost and quality, as this was not the cheapest but not the most expensive that we found while searching but I think it paid off.
The packaging was more than adequate to keep it safe in transit. The bag that came with it is padded enough to keep the drum safe for regular use and with the strap that allows you to carry it gives some great portability. The drum not only came with the bag and strap but two drum ‘sticks’ a song book, finger ‘tips’ instead of using the sticks and additional stickers to identify the different tongues. I have not learned everything yet but I assume the stickers allow you to identify different tongues for different music as during my search of different songs there was a lot of different patterns that didn’t always match what I had.
The size isn’t too small and not unwieldy making this drum is the right size for our whole family (from 5 year old to my husband) to have fun with out of the box. The notes were clear and resonated nicely.
Overall this was a great buy, it really made a couple people in my family happy with the ability to just make music out of the box. The quality, weight, apartment durability and most importantly the sound is just what we were looking for.
